Coming up next in today's news: Taiwan has many stars and fireworks on New

Taiwan Has Many Stars and Fireworks on New Year's Eve
New Year's Eve is very exciting in Taiwan!
In Taipei tonight, there will be many performances (表演) at the City Hall
Square (市政府廣場).
Taipei 101 will be the star of "Taipei New Year's Eve Countdown Party."
We love countdowns! 10, 9, 8, 7...
The theme (主題) of the party is "Team Taiwan Champion."
The theme comes from Taiwan's national baseball team winning the World
Baseball Softball Confederation Premier12!
So this year, the fireworks (煙火) will be BIG.
Sixteen thousand fireworks will shoot out (噴射出) of Taipei 101.
There will be a light show too.
It will show Taiwan's heroes (英雄).
More than 200,000 people will come to watch the performances, fireworks, and
light show!
In New Taipei, the fun starts at 3:00 p.m.
You can watch circus (馬戲團) performances, magic shows (魔術秀), and listen
to bands play music!
The fireworks show starts at 8:00 p.m.
It will be the first in Taiwan on New Year's Eve.
Thirty thousand fireworks will go off (放)!
In Kaohsiung, a famous K-pop star will give her first New Year's Eve
performance in Taiwan!
Many Taiwanese stars will perform too.
There are two big fireworks shows in the city!
Kaohsiung's midnight (午夜) sky will be full of color and light!
Keelung is setting off fireworks for its 100th anniversary (週年紀念日).
The fireworks have four themes - Keelung's past (過去的), its progress
(進步), its future, and its anniversary!
Keelung has some gifts for visitors who do some activities (活動).
One is a scavenger hunt (尋寶遊戲).
Another is collecting stamps (印章) at restaurants.
These sound like fun!
There will be fireworks and local and international (本地和國際) stars at the
"2025 Taichung New Year's Countdown Party"
The theme is "Snakes Bringing Happiness."
One of the singers is a Golden Melody Award winner (金曲獎得主), and another
is a K-pop star!
The event will be at Taichung Central Park.
It's Taiwan's largest place for a party outside.
There are many, many other exciting New Year's celebrations in Taiwan.
But let's end with a mystery (神秘):
Are any of the "2025 Tainan is So Young" performers K-pop stars, J-pop stars,
or Golden Melody Award winners?
Tainan's mayor says "Just come!"

AI Agent Can Use Websites by Itself
Let's take a look at the future.
Have you used a chatbot (聊天機器人)?
Many people and companies use them.
Chatbots are software programs (軟體程式).
They use artificial intelligence, or AI (人工智慧).
They can chat with us like a person.
Since ChatGPT came out in 2022, chatbots have become very popular.
They answer our questions.
They write what we tell them to write.
They make pictures that we tell them to make.
But sometimes their answers aren't right.
And sometimes their writing and pictures are strange!
But they are getting better and better quickly.
Some software that uses AI can do more.
They are called AI agents (代理).
One AI agent was given videos.
The videos showed people playing a video game.
The AI agent looked at how the people used their computer.
Then it taught itself how to play the video game!
It can play the game... with no help.
When it plays, it learns the skills (技能) it needs to play the game.
It collects items (物品), it builds houses, and it even swims... in the game.
But AI agents can also learn skills that they can use in the real world.
One company has an AI agent that is being tested.
It can do some tasks (任務), without help from people.
It can use apps and websites (應用程式和網站).
It does this by writing software that talks to the apps or websites.
It cannot buy things... yet
A person needs to do that now.
The agent still makes mistakes.
But one day, just like with ChatGPT, we might be able to use AI agents.
They will be able to shop and do other things online (在線的) for us.
Some scientists say AI agents might make our lives easier.
But the agents may also be able to do many office jobs (辦公室工作).
That means lots of people could lose jobs.
Hmmmm... would you like to use an AI agent one day?

They can also learn skills that can be used in the real world.
AI agents can make our lives easier, but some people could lose their jobs.

And in today's Tasty Tidbit...
New Year's resolutions (新年新希望) are things we want to do for a year.
They're usually about making ourselves (我們自己) or our lives better.
People say "I will save more money."
Or "I will read more books."
But saying how much helps.
We can say, "I will save 50 NT every week."
Or "I will read one book every month."
Is there anything you want to do for 2025?
Here are some ideas for New Year's resolutions.
"I will learn a new English word every day."
Or "I will do something nice for my mom every week."
Or "I will ask questions when I don't understand something."
Or "I will say something kind to myself every day!"
If you make a resolution, you can tell a friend if you want.
Sometimes that can help you keep your resolution.
New Year's resolutions can be a nice way to start the year!
