Guess what?
There's some exciting news about a city you might know.
It's all about Taipei, the capital of Taiwan.
CNN Travel just shared a list of the world's top 100 cities for 2025.
It chose from more than 270 cities in the world...
And Taipei made it to number 76!
CNN Travel is a part of an American news network.
It talks about cool places to visit, travel tips, and the best spots around
the world.
For its latest list, CNN Travel asked 22,000 people from 30 countries about
their favorite cities.
They checked the cities for "Livability, Lovability and Prosperity".
That's how nice it is to live there, how lovable it is, and how much the city
grows.
美國新聞網CNN 選出2025年全球最佳城市,台灣台北入選第76名。
And Taipei has a lot to offer.
First, let's talk about food.
Taipei ranked 22nd for its delicious eats.
Thinking about slurping boba tea, enjoying tasty Mongolian BBQ, and munching
on famous soup dumplings.
There's also fancy restaurants that have Michelin stars.
And there's more.
Taipei is super green, ranking 29th for its parks and trees.
You can visit places like Yangmingshan National Park, full of nature trails
and amazing views.
CNN Travel has good things to say about living in Taipei too.
Overall, Taiwan has one of the world's best healthcare systems.
CNN Travel ranked it sixth best in the world.
And many big tech companies help the city grow.
CNN Travel says Taiwan is extra special in another way.
It says Taipei, and of course, Taiwan are very progressive (先進的).
It points out that Taiwan is the first in Asia to legalize same-sex marriage.
So, Taipei, and Taiwan aren't just about yummy food and cool parks.
It's a place full of care, progress, and fun!

牛津詞典2024代表字Brain Rot
Oxford Dictionary Chooses "Brain Rot" as Word of the Year
Hey guys, do you ever spend hours scrolling through Instagram reels or
watching TikTok videos?
Does it kind of feel like you just can't stop?
There's a name for that now.
It's "brain rot" (大腦腐蝕).
And "brain rot" is Oxford Dictionary's 2024 Word of the Year!
英國《牛津英語詞典》選出2024代表字"brain rot"。
Are you getting a feeling of deja vu (似曾相識)?
Like, you've heard something like this before?
That's because last week, we talked about another word of the year...
Dictionary.com chose "demure" as their 2024 Word of the Year.
Remember?
"Very mindful, very demure".
But Oxford's pick this year is quite different.
What is "brain rot" anyway?
No, it's not a spooky zombie thing!
And it's not a real medical problem (疾病).
It's a fun way to describe that mushy-brain feeling you get after watching
too many silly short videos or clips online.
Oxford says it's about having too much screen time...
And watching too much stuff that is low-quality, and low-value
(低品質,低價值).
Yep, that's brain rot!
Oxford says it picked this word because more people are using it this year.
In fact, its use shot up (急速增加) by 230 percent!
"Brain rot"」在一年之內使用率提升了230%。
Oxford also looked at other words that were really popular this year.
Yes, words like "demure"...
But also "dynamic pricing", which means prices that change because of
demand...
Or "romantasy", which is romance (愛情故事) plus fantasy (魔幻故事)!
So the next time you're deep in internet-scrolling-land, remember...
Too much might give you a little brain rot!
But now you know, and staying balanced is the key!
